Here’s a sampling of Easter weekend events for the entire family:

• April 9: Spring Egg Hunt at Halyburton Park. 1pm-4pm. Join the ‘eggcitement’ at Halyburton Park. Programs include Animal Eggs and Nest, Egglympics, Storytime, and Spring Nature Hike. Space is limited; pre-registration required. $5/participant.  Egg hunts for children ages 3-5, 6-7 and 8-10 will take place at 1:30, 2:30, and 3:30. • April 9-11: Stageworks Youth Theater Presents “The Big Friendly Giant.” Written by Roald Dahl, this classic tale is about the friendship between a sweet orphan and a dream-catching giant. Thur.-Fri. at 7pm; Saturday at 3pm. Admission charge. Thalian Hall , Wilmington. 910-343-3664.
• April 10: Welcome Spring Event . 9am-12noon. Egg hunts, face painting, spring games, egg decorating, the egg drop challenge, and other egg-citing activities. Bring your own basket. Event is free with museum admission. Special toddler egg hunt at 9:45am. Children’s Museum of Wilmington.
• April 10-12: Easter ‘Bunny’-Drawn Carriage Tours . Experience the beauty of Spring in historic Wilmington via a ‘Bunny’ horse-drawn carriage or trolley! Admission charge. Market & Water sts., Downtown Wilmington; 910-251-8889.
• April 10 & 11: Easter Egg Hunt at Battleship Park . Programs at 9:30am; 11:30am & 2:00pm. Children ages 2-9 are invited to join in the fun and games at Battleship Park. There will be an egg hunt and traditional games. Cost is $5 per child; pre-registration required. Call 910-251-5797 to register.
• April 11: Mayfaire Easter Egg Hunt .  10am. Join in the family fun & celebrate spring. The Easter bunny will be on hand for photo opportunities. The traditional Easter egg hunt begins at 10:15am. Children can bring their own baskets and dress in costume. Games, music, and crafts. This event is free. Mayfaire Town Centre, behind World Market, Wilmington. 910-256-5131.
• April 11: Riverfront Farmer’s Market . Each Saturday morning from 8am-1pm, the Riverfront Farmers’ Market features local farmers, producers, artists and crafters. Downtown Wilmington, Water Street, Wilmington. 910-341-0079.
